There is only one reason why you and I are justified, and it is the blood of Jesus. We should never forget the cross and what Jesus did for us there. If we are not careful the roaring lion will try to stop up from doing any good works.
How does the devil use good works against us to stop us from doing any good works?
The devil will tell your mind if you do that good deed you are trying to be justified with God by your good works. So we will not do that good deed in order to prove to the devil we are not trying to be justified by works. Yes, it is tricky and you would think everybody would know better than to listen to the devil. However, it still happens because many do not realize it is the devil talking their mind to start with.
We have the word of God to defeat the devil with and it works every time, not just some of the time but every time.
When the devil tries to stop us from doing good works for the glory of God, Our answer to him should be: Regardless of the good works we do, we acknowledge that is faith in the gospel of the Lord Jesus, His death, burial, and resurrection is why we are justified. The works come from the power of the Holy Ghost that lives within us because we believe in Jesus. We are to yield our minds to the Lord Jesus and His word creates the work within us.
I bring this teaching often to our attention because it is necessary because of the slyness of the devil. The devil will always use lies to deceive God’s people. When we start looking to ourselves to be justified we will always fail. We do good deeds because we are justified not to be justified.
Jesus told the disciples to take up the cross daily and follow Him. The disciples did not fully understand what Jesus was saying when He spoke those words to them until after the Holy Ghost was given to them.
Of course, Jesus spoke other things to them also that they did not understand until after the Holy Ghost was given to them. It was the Holy Ghost that empowered them to understand those things. Furthermore, it is the Holy Ghost that guides us into all truth.
Mar 8:34. And when he had called the people [unto him] with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
What Jesus was telling the disciples was that man does not have the ability to do anything that is pleasing to God. Another words, Man is justified by faith in Christ and His blood not by works or our performances. The cross we carry is the gospel of Jesus we do this everyday not just one day but everyday we are to remind ourselves that it is what Jesus did for us. Wonder how many thought of the cross today?
The Apostle Paul teaches the Galatians churches that we started out with faith in Jesus and we saw a miracle within our own life when we were born-again and receive a new life because of what Jesus did at the Cross of Calvary. He also, teaches them to continue to see miracle and the work of God we need to stay in touch daily with the Cross (gospel) of Calvary.

Today as you travel on your journey you will meet many that is in prison. The prison they are in is the bondage of sin. They will not be wearing a prison outfit, they will be wearing the same kind of clothes you and I are wearing.
What would it look like if what they were feeling would light up in bright letters across their chest.
1. If you felt like you were in bondage it would light up, I am in bondage to sin.
2. Or, if you felt free it would light up I am free from sin.
What would be written be across your chest?
Pro 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he:
If you are saved the writing should be I am free from the bondage of sin by the blood of Jesus.
However, even though we are free from sin many still feel they are in bondage.
1. Some still feel the guilt of the past, which they should not because the blood of Jesus has taken care of that.
2. Some may still feel guilt of their falling short now, which they should not because the blood of Jesus has taken care of the present.
3. Some may feel afraid of falling tomorrow which they should not because the blood of Jesus has taken care of that.
We that are saved are free indeed just like Jesus said. Even as Paul felt free when he was in the Roman prison that is why he would sing praises to God even while he was in prison. Singing praises to God opened prison doors.
All of this of course is not written across our chest in bright letters but we do let it show in the way our light shines for the glory of God.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
When does the freedom Jesus is talking about take place?
The moment a person confesses to the Lord Jesus that he/she is a sinner and ask the Lord to forgive and saved them in an instant they are set free from the bondage of sin by the blood of the Jesus.
We are free now we do not have to wait till Jesus comes back to be free from sin we are free now.
We are:
Free from the guilt of the past.
Free from the guilt of the present.
Free from the guilt of tomorrow.
There is power in the blood of Jesus.
The Apostle Paul said in Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
We are free from sin because of what Jesus did for us at the cross of Calvary. As we think in our heart so we are. We are to think free regardless of what our circumstances are because that is truth if you are saved. Think free at all times because Jesus said we were free and that is what counts. And if God be for us who can be against us. We are to trust what Jesus said and when He says you are free you are free indeed.

Gal 1:23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.
This would be a wonderful day for you to get saved if you have never been saved. A great day because tomorrow may not come, and this could be your last chance.
I am not trying to scare you into doing something you do not want to do; it is a fact tomorrow may not come.
Even, if tomorrow does give you another chance to get saved there is nothing more peaceful than to wake up in the morning knowing that you are a child of God. To know regardless of what happens in your life, God will make it work out for the best for you His child.
The Christians life is the best life to live it is so for ahead of a sinful life you cannot even compare the two. Other than a sinful life is a dead life and being a child of God is worth living and glorifying the Lord Jesus for.
There may be one reading this today, and you want to be saved, but you feel you have done so bad God will not save you.
Let me say to you there has been no one any meaner, murderous, persecutor, and hater of the church than the Apostle Paul was.
And look how gloriously and wonderful Jesus saved Paul and gave him a new life. Therefore, you cannot use being too terrible for God to save the blood of Jesus is more powerful than any dreadful thing you may have done.
The blood of Jesus will cleanse and wash you from all the sin and guilt. Everything, you deserve to be punished for Jesus has already been punished for you so that you can go free.
If you feel the Holy Spirit is speaking to your heart through reading this message. Today is the day of salvation for you.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
2 Cr 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation.)
Don’t waste another day be saved today.
Share this message with someone else if you believe the Lord is leading you to do so.

Has there been a time in your life when you prayed for a certain victory over a weakness? On the other hand, were there a time when you felt like the Holy Spirit leading you in a certain way. It could be a job, church work, missionary, whatever it may have been. And you prayed earnestly to see if it was the correct thing to do? Then, you felt sure the Lord said yes it was the right thing to do.
However, you did it but fell; now that is a bomber. That will send you on a trip of doubts and confusion wondering if the Holy Spirit was leading you after all. For sure if the Lord was leading you expected victory, but instead it looks like defeat.
1 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
There are some scriptures, we can draw comfort from concerning situations like this.
Judges chapter 19-22
We can read of an event that took place that goes right along with what we are talking about. In the tribe of Benjamin, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, did a horrible thing.
For time and space, I will not go into what they did. You can read it for yourself.
It was told to the children of Israel the other eleven tribes about what happen in the tribe of Benjamin.
Judges 20:11,12
12 And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, what wickedness is this that is done among you?
13 Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.
Benjamin would not listen to them and went to war.
So the children of Israel went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God and God told them to send the tribe of Judah to the war. You would expect them to win the battle since God told them to go. Just as much as we thought since, God led us in a certain area we thought we would win.
The first day the children of Benjamin destroyed 22,000 men. The children of Israel encourage themselves and went the second day and lost eighteen thousand men.
Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, they sat there and fasted until the evening. There is much to this story that we can be learn from. Therefore, it would be good for you to study it for yourself.
The point I want to make is the children of Israel did not quit, and I do not even see where they question God about what appear to be a loss. However, things are not always what they appear to be.
Finally, the Lord told them again to go, and He would deliver the enemies into their hands, and they got the victory that day.
The things maybe you fell to achieve, and yet you felt the Lord truly was leading you to do it.
Just because you did not achieve what you thought the Lord was leading you to do, you have felt guilty and shy about trusting yourself in other matters to do for the glory of the Lord.
You are not sure now that the Holy Spirit was leading you after all.
By you reading this devotion this morning maybe it speaks to you saying: the Lord did lead you to do what you did. And what look like a failure was really a victory.
One last verse:
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
Regain your confidence in what the Lord may be leading you to do and go for it. The finished product is what is important.

Pro 3:5,6
5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5,6 are some of my most favorite verses. Right after I got saved in 1972, I read these verses of scriptures and have gone to them many times since.
I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to heaven.
I acknowledge that Jesus saved me by His grace in 1972 and gave me a new nature.
I acknowledge staying focus of the Gospel of Jesus and what He did on the Cross for us is the reason we have a future in the kingdom of God.
Today for the devotional I wanted to acknowledge Jesus and what a savior He is. How Christ can love you and me and went to a cross to be torture goes beyond human understanding.
Praise God we do not have to understand His love to enjoy its benefits. As the scriptures say, let the peace of God rule your heart.
How can God love us so much to give His son on a cross? Do not try to understand it. Let God’s peace and love rule your heart!!!

2 Sam 22:33 God is my strength and power: And he maketh my way perfect.
2 Sam 22:50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
You probably have heard much about King David successes and failures. I suppose most people remember his sin of adultery, which led to murder more than remembering his successes for the glory of God.
There is one thing King David did that we can learn a valueable lesson from. He acknowledges God as his strength and power and said it was God that makes his way perfect.
We can look at David's enemies as sin even though some were his own children in the flesh. There was Saul, who was jealous of David that was trying to kill him. David had many foes, but he defeated them all.
The reason I worded the above the way I did that is we can look at David's enemies as sin because Satan is always behind the scene working his evil intent through the human being. We have to look beyond the flesh of people and even our own government and see that it is Satan working through the humans.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].
Of course, I do not believe everyone that is in politics are sinful and follow the ways of Satan, but many are. The politician does not realize that he is doing the will of Satan in most cases he may think he is doing good. Nevertheless, we know he is not doing good when the scripture shows us he is not.
We need to pray for our leaders in government That God would set them free from the influence of Satan and his demons.
This day as we go on our journey toward heaven, we need to follow the example of King David and acknowledge that God is our strength and makes our way perfect.
Then give thanks unto the Lord Jesus and praise His name among the heathen.
As long as we keep thinking it is by our will and determination that we live a holy life we will keep falling. It is the Lord Jesus that makes our way perfect.
It is Jesus that forgives, saves, keeps, and empowers us to live a holy life and walk in love.

Ps 5:19. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Giving thanks will keep you humble and pride out. When our children are growing up we always tried to teach them to be thankful, especially when someone gives or does something for them.
Here the bible teaches us to give thanks for all things unto God. When it says everything that is what it means. I do not give luck any credit for anything that is good that I am blessed with. I thank God for it.
All sin that we have victory over, we should always give God the glory and praise for it. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we overcome the world of sin in defeating the Satan.
The number-one thing the bible teaches us to do is walk in Jesus love. That love is the fruit that comes from trusting and abiding in in Him. Trusting what He did for us on the cross of Calvary will free us from the bondage of Satan.
You were not born with the kind of love the word of God teaches us that we should walk in. You cannot create this kind of love in your heart through anything you can do in your fleshly nature. Human nature love is a selfish love it loves in hopes of getting something in return.
The love we are to walk in comes from the Lord Jesus and we should always give Him thanks for it. Listen to the following plea of Paul for Gods people:
Eph 3:16-21
16. That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17. That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18. May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19. And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
We need to have a day after day devotion in God’s word to walk and grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus and His love. Reading God’s word every day will work in our hearts and create the works of God for us.
You may read God’s word today and do not really feel a benefit from doing so, quickly let me say it is a benefit even though you may not see it. For example: You may not remember what you ate yesterday. Even though you do not remember what you ate for your physical body yesterday it still has given you nourishment for today.
The same way with God's word you may not remember what you read, but it still works in your heart.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
If someone is wondering if the city of God is going to run out of room and be too crowded with the saints, the answer is no, There is still room for more!!!
Maybe you are reading this message, and you never have been saved today would be an excellent time for you... to get your name wrote in the lamb's book of life. Then you can rejoice and praise God for your home in heaven one day.
GO TO BOTTOM OF PAGE FOR THE DETAILS OF THE NEW JERUSALEM.
New Jerusalem is 1500 miles high and 1500 miles square. The city itself be will be 2,250,000 square miles and a street paved with pure gold. The city will be setting on the top of the 12 foundation of precious jewels.
Jesus said in My Father house are many mansions, and I go to prepare for you. I have never been to a city that big, but I am going there one day.
Can you even begin to imagine the size and beauty of the city of God? Not only is the city 2,250,000 sq miles. There the brand-new heaven and earth we have to marvel at. And we have eternity to live, worship and praise our Father and enjoy the new creation of God.
United States 3.790,000 square miles, compare to New Jerusalem 2,250,000 square miles, think about that.
New Jerusalem is nearly as large as the United States and almost 14 times bigger than California. That is one more awesome city, and we will be living there for eternity.

DETAILS OF THE NEW JERUSALEM.
Rev 21:10-27
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13. On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15. And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20. The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Today’s devotion is a message we need to keep reminding ourselves of because this is were Satan always will be attacking a believer. Therefore, if we do not understand his ways he will trip us up.
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
What did Apostle Paul mean when he said let not sin reign in your mortal body?
Is Paul saying let not lying reign, or adultery, or stealing when he said let not sin reign? What sin is Paul talking about? Adultery, lying, stealing, is the fruit of sin. The bigger picture will give us a clearer understanding of what sin is and how to defeat it.
Satan is the author of sin, he is a liar and the father of lies so said Jesus in John 8:44. Satan came to Eve in the form of a snake and deceived her with a lie, telling her she would not die if she ate the fruit God had told her and Adam not to eat. She believed Satan and gave to Adam and they both ate the forbidden fruit. When they did both spiritually died. However, they spiritually died before they ate the fruit because God had told them not to touch it. Therefore, when they touch the fruit they died. Satan reign (rule) that day.
Sin has a name and that name is Satan. I believe you could say, let not Satan reign (rule) in your mortal body and be scripturally sound.
The tempter came to Jesus and tried to get Him to doubt who He was. By saying if thou be the son of God command that these stones be made bread. Jesus defeated Satan with the word of God by saying: (It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God).
Satan tried three different times to deceive Jesus. Satan goal was to get Jesus to worship him and that is the same intentions Satan has today with every human being. However, on the third try Jesus said: (Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve).
Jesus put a name on sin when He said get thee hence Satan.
Adam and Eve had only one thing not to do, and that was not to touch or eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden.
We have only one thing to do to today to be right with God and be saved. And that is to believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ which is the death, burial, and resurrection. He shed His blood so that we could be forgiven and saved. We do this by confessing we are sinners and asking Him to forgive and save us.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
We are justified by the blood of Jesus plus nothing else. We stay right with God by the blood of Jesus and nothing else.
Satan will try to deceive people by telling them that after they are saved they will have to do this and that to stay right with God. Do not listen to anything Satan has to say, let not Satan reign and tell you what to do.
When we do anything good for the glory of God it is because His grace moves us to do so. When we keep our eyes upon Jesus and what He did for us at the cross of Calvary, giving Him glory, honor, and thanksgiving the Holy Spirit will create the works in our hearts. At no time can we ever boast of anything good of ourselves it is by the grace of God we are what we are.
